Nevertheless, what’s worse is that the lacquer dried really fast
- It was dried before it hit the grounds or lays on things, giving you no time to react. So you better be careful with oil-based because it tends to dry faster than the others. My Recommendation
I’m satisfied with the fact that I can carry this sprayer around easily. In addition, I also like the adjustable pattern and the variable flow control. Overall, the sprayer performs pretty well in general aspect. However, the price is relatively expensive but you still have overspray problem. But come on, you cannot minimize the degree of overspray to zero anyway, and the overspray from this sprayer is minimal.
In general, because I use the extra thick material like lacquer that creates my problem. On the other hand, I was really happy to use this sprayer for less thick material. This is not the best paint sprayer for interior walls. Nonetheless, if you own a high budget, then it’s okay to give this sprayer a try.

Fuji Spray has been producing many HVLP spray system and achieved a lot of success since 1986. Fuji Semi-PRO 2 HVLP Spray System is the one that gives me the most satisfying experience. Even though the price is high, I did not regret it since the non-bleed feature really impresses me. Besides, there are many other features that will make you feel that it worth the money.
PROS
Non-bleed feature – This is the best feature that Fuji offers to me. If you are not familiar with the HVLP sprayer, there are two types of sprayer including bleeder and non-bleeder. A non-bleeder sprayer won’t blow the air out of the tip of the gun unless you pull the trigger.
On the contrary, a bleeder type will blow the air off regardless. As a result, I need to turn off the air pressure to atomize the paint but doing this will result in overspray. So to sum up, the advantage of a non-bleeder type is that it prevents overspray.
Powerful motor – It’s a super-powerful 1400 watt 2-stage bypass motor contained in a metal case. Reading the specification of the motor alone is enough to give you the grasp on the strength of this motor. I used this sprayer to paint my furniture and my experience tells me that this is the best paint sprayer for furniture.
Fan control knob – Of course, it would be disappointing if such powerful sprayer does not come with the variable flow control. I can easily adjust the pattern from small to wide circular by just turning the knob back and forth.
Air control valve and 25ft hose – At first, I was surprised at the 20ft long hose, and now I was even more surprised with a 25ft long hose. For minimal overspray, I also make use of the air control valve to assure less overspray and bounce back.

CONS
Loud and heavy – You might be surprised but the loud thing is not the turbine but the titan. Surprisingly, with such power, the turbine produces less noise than the titan. You might need ear plugs for when using this tool.
Poor instruction – I personally have used many paint sprayers so it’s not a big deal to me. But if you are a newbie DIYer, this could be a problem for you. For example, I notice that there is no instruction about thinning the paint or a guide on selecting the appropriate tip.
My Recommendation
Since this is a huge investment and you get very little instruction, I would not recommend this tool for a newbie. But if you have already been a professional painter for a long period, then it should be fine. Because no matter how good you are, the still get frustrated by the overspray problem. More importantly, you get a paint sprayer to save time so you don’t want to spend your precious time just to clean up the mess.

Started from a family business, Graco has now become a worldwide manufacturer of fluid-handling equipment and systems. My father sent me this Graco Project Painter Plus Paint Sprayer as a Christmas present since he knew my last one had been broken. Later, I used it for staining and it worked quite well.
PROS
Flexible & Extra Long Hose – I used the 25ft long hose of this paint sprayer to take the paint directly from the 5 gal container, it was so convenient that I don’t need to attach a cup to it like using cup paint sprayer.
Best paint sprayer for stains – As mentioned before, I used it with stains. Moreover, I’ve acknowledged that it works well with wide variety of coating from stains to heavy latex and acrylics. However, you should not use them with thicker paint like lacquer, block filler, asphalt and texture-filled materials unless you want to buy a new paint sprayer
Adjustable pressure – Anytime I want to adjust the pressure, I just need to turn the dial, and there are the symbols that describe the settings pretty well that it does not take much time to understand all of them. So like I’ve said, just turn the dial and get the perfect control of paint flow.
Compact design – I don’t even lift but carrying this item around is a piece of cake. It weighs only 15 pounds, I can take it anywhere with the 25ft long hose and an integrated pail hook on it. Also, it does not take up too much space in my basement anyway.
Easy to clean – It connects to the garden hose easily with the power flush adapter which is so handy for instant cleanup. In addition, it also features the Reverse-A-Clean Spray Tip to clear the unit quickly and get rid of the clogs.
Best instruction available – Instruction include tutorials with the most detail picture for illustration, everything is written in detail so you won’t have any unanswered question. Whenever I feel unsure about the instruction, I can access the video from the DVD included by the manufacturer.
CONS
Non-repairable – I broke a pump of it, just a pump and that’s how I bid my farewell to the entire paint sprayer I bought for nearly 200 bucks (it’s around 172 bucks now). At that tragedy moment, I ran out of warranty since I already used it for 16 months while the warranty was only 12 months. Then I thought I would happily pay some fee to repair since the tool worked well anyway. However, I contacted the repairmen from Graco and they told me that it is not repairable. And that’s how I lost my paint sprayer.
No more than 10 gal – You don’t need more than 10 gals, just exactly 10 gals and you’ll see the problem. In detail, the paint sprayer still worked for a while and then failed shortly after that. Later, you recognized that the motor is malfunctioned. To spray high-quality paint, you’ll need to have larger spray tip, and the issue here is that this motor won’t cope with larger size tip.
My Recommendation
In general, it’s a good paint sprayer that I use especially for stains. Furthermore, the fact that the hose can take paint directly from the can is also amazing. Unfortunately, the fact that you can’t have it repaired makes it disposable. I really don’t want to throw away nearly 200 bucks just for a mistake. However, the instruction is very clear with the video tutorials, therefore, I strongly recommend this paint sprayer for a newbie.

Back in the day when I had no idea what paint sprayer should I use for painting my cabinet? Then one of my friends, a professional painter with 3 years experience, recommended me this one. As I trusted him a lot, I decided to purchase it. I did not hesitate because the price was inexpensive anyway. Surprisingly, it did a good job nonetheless.
PROS
Three spray patterns – Like another paint sprayer, you can adjust three different patterns including the horizontal, vertical and circular pattern. In addition, you can control the flow width from 1 inch up to 6 inches.
With such pattern and width, the HomeRight C800766 is perfect for painting cabinets. Even more, it is predominant for woodcrafts, furniture, fixtures, and other similar options.
Self-contained and lightweight – Thank God, I really hate air compressor since it causes a lot of noise that is killing my ear drums brutally. No hose is a good thing to because sometimes I get tripped over the hose (I’m not a smart man). Lastly, you don’t need pumps too, so there will be less money for replacement of the pumps (Remember the non-repairable Graco Project Painter Plus pumps?).
I used to be happy with the extra long hose and lightweight paint sprayer. But now we have a lightweight one with no hose, meaning you can easily take the sprayer to anywhere you want.
Easy to use – This is the easiest paint sprayer I have ever used. Aside from having no hose and pump, the setup is equally easy. You put all the paint in the container and attach it to the sprayer, select the right pattern and flow by turning the ear caps. Finally, you plug the cord into the outlet and run it.
Overspray reduction – When I was painting my cabinet, thanks to the fact that I had controlled the flow and the pattern properly, the overspray is reduced to the minimal. The dust did not come out that much and I was able to create a really smooth finish.
Viscosity Cup and Thinning Chart – First of all, I poured the paint into the viscosity cup, and then I calculated the time it took to drain the paint out of the cup. After that, I compared the time (the run out time) to see whether it falls within the time frame specified on the thinning chart. Everything went well, and I saw smooth finish in my work without any fleck of spots. My advice is that you just need to follow the instruction and you will be fine.
Easy to clean – It was so easy to clean that I only used soap and water (only applied for the water-based project). One very important note, carefully check the brass fluid nozzle and needle to clean off the paint, especially the dried one. Because the manufacturer states that the needle and nozzle are what make the sprayer life longer.
CONS
Bad customer service – This is the opinion I collect from the user of this product, I have not broken mine yet. A customer realized that his paint sprayer plastic lid broke. Then he called the customer service to ask for the replacement, it took him ten days for a proper response from several calls. Two more days passed and the replacement arrived but it was the wrong part. Later, he complained again and got a new replacement, this time it was another broken replacement. Well, that how the customer service of HomeRight works.
Dripping and Spillage – The paint sprayer requires you to tilt it while spraying, but you can’t tilt more than 45 degrees. I would not complain if it was not because of the spillage when I tilted it. The paint spilled out and dropped all over the floor, even when I screwed tightly the lid.
My Recommendation
This is another paint sprayer that I would totally recommend for a newbie. The viscosity cup and the thinning chart are what make this product shines. I painted the whole cabinets with very little overspray thanks to them. On top of that, the price is quite affordable but you should be careful about the customer service and the dripping problem.

Bought this one for my woodwork, I did not expect much but it worked out better than I imagined. I used it with latex paint but diluted a little bit to be sure. The mechanism is quite simple and the paint sprayer is also easy to clean. It worked well for small to medium size project.
PROS
Mason jar – The paint was stored in the mason jar with an air tight. I kept the paint in the jar for the next time I paint, it’s very convenient. You can change color pretty fast when using this mason jar to store different products in it.
Easy to operate – All I did was to connect it to the air compressor, adjust the pressure and the liquid nozzle up and down to control the material. By the way, it only has a circular pattern.
Adaptable to various containers – The standard mason jar can hold up to 16 ounces. However, when 16 ounces is not enough, I can always change it to the bigger container.
Easy to clean – I put thinner in another sealer jar and connected it to the paint sprayer. Then I shook it up and sprayed the dirty water out of the jar. In other words, it just cleaned itself, all I did was shaking and spraying. Apparently, this is the easiest clean up I have ever done.
Inexpensive – This paint sprayer is very inexpensive, it only costs 42 bucks. The reason that the price is this low is that you need an air compressor in order to run this sprayer.
CONS
Requires strong air compressor – Luckily, I had an air compressor running at 5 cfm at 100 psi, higher than the requirement of 3 cfm at 90 psi. Make sure to get an air compressor that meets the requirement since it won’t work properly with an underpowered air compressor. In other words, you’ll need to adhere to a 3-4 horsepower and everything will be fine.
Only works for small project – At this price, it’s obvious that this paint sprayer can only work for the small project. Particularly, it sprays from 2 inches and 2.5 inches circular pattern. Nevertheless, it does a good job as a small cup sprayer so there is nothing to complain anyway.
My Recommendation
I strongly recommend this one for the small to medium project. If you run a tight budget, the inexpensive price of this paint sprayer will be a big advantage for you. With the simple mechanism and easy cleanup, this tool works fine in general.
